Cork County youngster Diarmuid Carey enjoys a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in a 2-day coaching clinic at the MCC Cricket Academy at Lord’s as part of an ever-improving tie between Munster Cricket and the MCC. Diarmuid will be joined by Kaasim Alam of Limerick CC.
The initiative arose following the visit of the MCC to the Mardyke last August when Fraser Stewart (MCC Cricket Academy Manager) saw talent of both youngsters during a Munster Development XI fixture when the touring side were beaten at the Mardyke last August.
The pair made the relatively short trip to the iconic Lord’s ground on Tuesday, 11th April, and will take part in a two days coaching clinic by some of the MCC’s leading coaches.
It’s a fantastic chance for the two lads to soak up as much as they can as they continue their development as cricketers. The experience should set Diarmuid in good stead as he looks ahead to a busy season of cricket for County in both Munster and Leinster league and cup competitions.
