Dermot ‘Galty’ Giltinan RIP

The club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dermot Giltinan overnight.

Our deepest condolences to his sister Deirdre, brother Noel, extended family, and friends at this time. Galty will be sorely missed at the Mardyke.

To say we have lost a ‘Legend’ today does not do justice to Dermot’s legacy at the Mardyke and for Munster cricket as a whole throughout his life.

He was a mentor, teammate, friend, volunteer, supporter and above all a genuine and loyal cricket lover. You will be greatly missed!

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h’anam dílis. #RIP #ThanksGalt

  1. Stephen McCarthy says:

We were late entries into the life of the Galt but he was an absolute inspiration to my 9 year old son, Oscar back in 2012 when he arrived up to the Cricket Club with his buddy, Alex Dineen. The Galt was so patient and encouraging to all the kids and brought the best out of them and was the reason that Oscar stuck at it. Sleep well, Dermot. You truly are a Legend.
