Over the past 20 years Leinster have visited the Mardyke to play against Munster underage teams. Dermot was an excellent host and took such pride from seeing these fixtures take place each year. To this day, these trips are still taking place.
We managed a few coaching visits to ‘Pres’ over the years and he was always present at the Cork County bar after games to discuss all things about Munster cricket. He had a deep passion for the local game.
