This year is an especially exciting one with the Australians coming to play Ireland for the second time in three years and the boys in green similarly meeting Mr. Tubridy again cricket is really taking off on the great island of Ireland.
In the last three years Kilbritain GAA, The Scousers and Dolphin RFC have all won the Cork Charity Cricket Sixes and this year all 3 will be back to battle it out with staff from Reardens, The Villains and many more teams coming along with the ISPCC. The Bowery again will be hosting the after party with teams encouraged to wear fancy dress and team kits every year it was not unusual to see the members of KISS moving through the Bowery last year.
In the last three years we have raised money for the Marymount Hospice, The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Matt Talbot Association. This years charity has a significant connection to cricket as the CEO has a well known Irish Cricket star in Andrew Balbirnie.
This years event is taking place on Saturday 30th June 2012 with registration taking place from 9am and the first game kicking off at 10am. Our chef is once again Mr. Colin Shannon who along with feeding us last year look after some of the Worlds best known musicians at the Marquee. We will have our DJ keeping the crowd entertained well into the evening.
Teams of 6 will have an entry fee of €150/€25 per player with €15 covering a great BBQ lunch and dinner and €10 per player going to the ISPCC. There will also be a raffle after the final with some fantastic prizes. For further details and registration please contact us on 021-4272569 or corkcountycc@gmail.com.
