UK’s finest banjoist Dan Walsh comes to the Mardyke

Touted as one of the finest banjo players in the UK as well as being a superb singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dan Walsh is described as ‘the real deal’ (Uncut) and ‘taking the banjo into the stratosphere’ (Froots) with a unique and eclectic style taking in folk, funk, bluegrass, jazz, rock and even Arabic.

Dan will be bringing his unique sound to the Cricket Club function room in Cork on Friday, 26th April. Doors open at 8.00 p.m. and entry is €10 per person. The gig will be followed by a disco for remainder of the night with a range of wines and beers from around the globe to suit all taste buds!

Sid’s Spice Night – Friday, 8th March

Well known County all-rounder Sid Joshi is putting aside the bat and ball and indulging in his other favourite pastime… cooking! Sid will be cooking some true Indian tasties to suit every palate on Friday, 8th March, at 8.00 p.m. To add to the sub continental atmosphere the Bollywood film Lagaan (a story of village cricketers taking on the Raj) will be showing on the new big screen in the Club bar and of course there will be some jammin background Indian tunes.
